Life on the Train

Novosiobirsk.

Our compartments were a bit cramped.

We kinda felt like Jack Dawson in Titanic. Expect without the huge diamond. Ours is bigger.

Irkustk/Lake Baikal

Trying to find our hostel in Irkustk. Reading Russian is harder than you think.

6 hour van ride.

Tim bet Gabe that he couldn't scale down the mountain and pick him an icicle. When Gabe finally got to the bottom, picked one, and started making his way back, Timmy yelled, "I didn't want that one!"
It was zero degrees outside.

Olkhon Island in Lake Baikal.

Taking the ferry to the island.

"Teefs."

Moooooooooooooooooooooooo
"Just jump Wilbur, I can catch ya."

Guard dog.

Last Night in Ulan Baator

Crystal

UB has a big Beatles statue in the middle of town. Tim wanted to hug John Lennon.
TR's having fun.
Ider, our buddy.

We've gotten pretty good on human pyramids, and the obligatory picture after we all fall on top of each other.

Our last night in UB was really, really fun.

Ulan Baator has a big problem with people stealing manhole covers. Yup, it's weird. Here's a picture of a bus boxing a car into the pothole.
International Intellectual Museum

Max and Bubby at the entrance to the market.
How you get into the Monoglia Mall.
You can get anything you want here! If anything you want happens to be a broken-apart lawnmower or some used adult socks!

When we first got into UB we went over to a new restaurant/bar that had just opened up called "Twilight." This bar was not, despite our assumptions, named after the super sumptuous vampire book. The owner is Ider and he was Ulan Baator for us. We spent a good amount of the week with him and decided we wanted to spend our last night having a go at the capital with him. Everything was tons of fun as our pictures probably prove.
